Our Transplantation Program is the largest in the nation, with more than 2,500 adult and pediatric heart transplants performed since 1971, and more than 75 transplants performed on average each year. We have more experience than any other center in the country with TAVR, a minimally invasive catheter-based treatment for aortic valve disease, having been pioneers in its development and having done more than 4,000 procedures and performing more than 500 annually. As a major academic medical center, the Hospitals physicians are leading and participating in multi-center clinical trials which have been improving treatment for heart disease.
