NewYork-Presbyterian provides world-renowned cardiovascular care for adults and children with heart diseases and disorders. The Hospital successfully treats some of the highest risk cases in the world. In fact, many patients who cannot be helped elsewhere come to NewYork-Presbyterian, where every patient receives advanced, comprehensive care. Our team of heart surgeons are experienced in both open and minimally invasive procedures with expertise in robotic approaches. Our Transplantation Program is the largest in the nation, with more than 2,500 adult and pediatric heart transplants performed since 1971, and more than 75 transplants performed on average each year. We have more experience than any other center in the country with TAVR, a minimally invasive catheter-based treatment for aortic valve disease, having been pioneers in its development and having done more than 4,000 procedures and performing more than 500 annually. As a major academic medical center, the Hospitals physicians are leading and participating in multi-center clinical trials which have been improving treatment for heart disease.

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery provides the most advanced treatments and programs for musculoskeletal conditions in adults and children, including joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and scoliosis.
